Getting Started

The Hillsborough County Crime And Traffic Map enables you to explore the crime and traffic information within the county. Note: Be aware that some of the municipalities within the county, such as Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Plant City have their own Police Departments. To explore crimes and traffic in these areas, go to their websites.

The Offense Codes (Crime Types) have been separated in 3 different groups due to the great number of different Offense Codes:

• Main Crime Types - ARSON, ASSAULT, BATTERY, BURGLARY, DRUGS, DUI, FIRE, FRAUD, HARASS, MISCHIEF, MURDER, ROBBERY, THEFT, TRAFFIC
• Other Crime Types - CIVIL, CYBER, EXTORT, FORGERY, INJURY, KIDNAP, LAUNDER, LIQUOR, OBSTRUCT, ORD, SUICIDE, THROWING, TRESPASS, WARRANT, WEAPON
• Misc Crime Types - ALIEN, BRIBERY, CAP, CONSERVE, DISORDER, EMBEZ, ESCAPE, GAMBLING, HEALTH, INTOX, LOITER, LOOSE, PEACE, PRIVACY, PROPERTY, PUBLIC, SMUGGLE, STALKING, STOLEN

How it works

The Application has three main parts: Navigation Control for interacting with the map Menus along the top and bottom View Options And Tools enable you to change map view options and to export the map and the data results. Change Map Style Rotate Map Toggle Full Screen Export the current results to Excel Create a PDF file containing the map image and/or other elements Access the application help pages Search Options enable you to select crime and traffic search criteria: Select Place of intrerest Select Time period Select Crime Type Select Data display option (single point, clusters) Results Overview Map Map

Working with the Menus

You can expand and collapse sections as needed. Click the down arrow to expand a section:

Click the up arrow to collapse it to its title bar:

The content of the section is hidden but not deleted. Expand the section to see the content again.
